Iniciativa GOCA champions STEAM Education with Robotics Lab at Tecnologico de Monterrey Hidalgo, Empowering the Inspiring Robotics Team: KEYBOT
In 2023, through efforts of the Iniciativa GOCA and Grupo GOCA, a transformative initiative came to fruition: the establishment and donation of a robotics laboratory to Tecnológico de Monterrey in Hidalgo. This facility stands as a beacon of opportunity for aspiring young minds, serving as a dynamic hub for immersive learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
At the heart of this endeavor lies KEYBOT 5716, the inspiring robotics team representing Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Hidalgo. With unwavering dedication, the team eagerly prepares annually to compete in the prestigious “FIRST Robotics Competitions” hosted by the organization For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST).
Beyond fostering technical skills, the robotics laboratory nurtures a sense of belonging and community among Keybot members. It provides a supportive environment where students not only delve into robotics but also cultivate a passion for STEAM disciplines and forge lifelong connections with peers from diverse backgrounds.
Central to Keybot’s mission is its commitment to showcasing Mexico’s talent on a global stage, proudly representing both the nation and Tecnológico de Monterrey. With innovation as their compass, team members tackle challenges with creativity and determination, embodying the spirit of exploration and discovery.
Moreover, the Keybot team extends its impact beyond competition arenas, spearheading meaningful social projects. These initiatives aim to empower individuals across generations, including seniors and children with hearing impairments, fostering inclusivity and making a tangible difference in the community.
Through this visionary collaboration, the robotics laboratory serves not only as a symbol of technological advancement but also as a catalyst for positive change, enriching lives and inspiring future generations of innovators.
